About the Sawyers
Our journey towards church planting began fifteen years ago with our first call out of seminary. Sean was on staff with a nondenominational church with the plan to plant a sister location. As the Lord subsequently called us into the PCA, Sean has had the privilege of being the Lead Pastor for two congregations over the past ten years in both Missouri and South Carolina and before that being involved with churches in Tennessee, Texas, Colorado, and Mississippi.
This broad ministry experience has gifted us with an ability to see the underlying similarities that people have all over America while simultaneously providing us with a respect for people's regional differences. We have learned to live with and serve where people do not think or believe as we do. Our background from various regions fits very well into the northern suburbs of Boston where there is an eclectic mix of lifelong Bostonians and transplants.
For several years we've had increasing internal yearnings for ministry outside of an established congregation. While we have been blessed by our time in existing churches, we've come to understand that new churches are the best vehicle for reaching the unchurched. Seeking greater discernment, this past fall we submitted ourselves to our denomination's church planter assessment program where we gained insight, training, and a recommendation for the ministry of planting.
CTK North is a gospel centered community for Boston's northern suburbs. We long to see a church in the northern suburbs of Boston where God's people engage others through hospitality, neighborhood involvement, and individual relationships so that our community may experience the grace of Jesus Christ in and through his people.
